Sara Weinstock

Sara Weinstock’s desire to capture the essence of beauty, to possess its secrets, and to unlock its mysteries has fascinated her since childhood.

Born in northern California into a large, predominantly female family of artists (her mother and grandmother were painters), Sara’s love of beauty and the values of her strong female mentors were instilled at an early age.

As a young girl, Sara recalls visits from her aunt who first introduced her to jewelry. She had a wonderful pouch of magical treasures – family heirlooms, estate jewelry as well as contemporary pieces. Sara would spend hours sprawled out on the floor surrounded by the jewelry, asking her aunt questions about the history, origin, family connection, and meaning behind the beauty that lay in front of her. She was spellbound, her passion ignited.

That passion never left Sara. She went on to gather a formidable collection of her own estate jewelry, study at the Gemological Institute of America, and later worked with a local jewelry designer. It was there that her ancestral ethos and love of art began to join forces with her own ideas for her first collection. Sara knew she wanted a future in the jewelry business. After her twenty-year marriage ended and her children were grown, Sara found herself shifting into a new chapter and jewelry felt like the natural place to land. “I loved so much to connect the stories of the people to the stories of the jewelry,” expresses the designer. The result was her first collection, named Universal Love. As a storyteller who weaves magical symbols and ancient alchemy through luxurious gemstones and haute couture designs, Sara found her audience and has continued to delight many more since. As the details and motifs change what remains consistent is the designer’s deep connection to the feminine along with the elegance, quality, and luxury of her work, making it truly timeless. The poet A. C. Benson once said, “As she makes her way through the world, a certain sense of beautiful mystery seems to gather and grow.” No doubt, Sara Weinstock’s desire to unlock the mysteries of beauty will do just that.
